Dino Miranda: European Tour 2024

Read the release

Well-travelled globetrotter Dino Miranda is at it again. His 2023 European tour left audiences wanting more. By popular demand, the composer and crowd-puller is undertaking another tour to Europe, not only to consolidate his presence but to entertain an audience that never seemed to get enough of his shows. Miranda, no stranger to grand stages around the world, said he had worked very hard and was more than ready for this year's dates, sharing first tastes of new material with his fans. He described the tour as a series of masses in which the high priest (Dino Miranda) and the congregation (the crowd) sing and marvel in unison to the well-crafted tunes of the Mozambican maestro.

The highlight of the 2024 tour is a performance on Sunday 14 July at Afrika-Festival Stuttgart in Germany. Now in its 19th edition, the festival is a forum for African music, art, dance, culture, food, fashion and film, with artists such as Pape Samory Seck of Senegal, Falafel of Morocco, Sambusa of Cameroon and Kwadi of Ghana. Joining the list this year is Dino Miranda, the first Mozambican artist on the festival's bill, bringing his own touch of marrabenta, Afro-jazz and kizomba. The "Fatal" troubadour then continues across Europe until mid-September 2024 before returning home to Mozambique.

Back by popular demand: Coast to Coast Tour, second leg

Read the release

Gone are the days of Covid-19 restrictions. As South Africans prepare for their first festive season as free as before, award-winning guitarist, singer, composer, arranger and producer Dino Miranda will be back by popular demand after his hugely successful Coast to Coast Tour of June and July 2022.

Besides Port St Johns, Hermanus, Plettenberg Bay, Bathurst and Cape Town, people in Knysna, Oudtshoorn, Calitzdorp and other towns along South Africa's coast can brace themselves for the island style and entrancing lyrics of the Guitar Man.

Kicking off on Saturday 3 December in Bathurst at the Rocking the Green Festival, the second leg of the tour will set the 2021 compositions in the minds of fans: the singles "Moçambique" and "Dança Comigo", featuring guests including Teba Shumba and Abuchamo Munhoto.

The music man, whose distinctive sound draws on his native marrabenta, Afro-fusion, pop, zouk and kizomba, has been hard at work with his band, because he would not want any fan to stay seated. As he told those close to him: "you get in OKAY and you get out KO".

Read the release

Johannesburg, 8 June 2022. Award-winning singer, guitarist, composer, arranger and producer Dino Miranda, CEO of Dinomirandamusic and Trading and Miramundo Produções, announces his Coast to Coast Tour. Between 22 June and 6 August 2022 it takes him from Maputo to Durban, East London, Makhanda (Grahamstown), Port St Johns, Plettenberg Bay, Knysna, Hermanus, Bathurst, St Francis Bay and Cape Town. It is the artist's first tour since the lifting of the Covid-19 lockdown that halted all concerts, festivals and gatherings.

The tour also carries his 2021 singles, "Moçambique" featuring various artists and "Dança Comigo" featuring Abuchamo Munhoto and Teba Shumba: proof that the pandemic did not stop Dino Miranda from working.

A prolific composer, arranger and producer, Dino Miranda blends Afro-pop, marrabenta and fusion, sometimes delving strictly into one of them, creating a distinctive sound that is his alone. It makes his music eclectic, and a feast for anyone at his live shows.

About Dino Miranda

Growing up in a household lulled by music in his native Mozambique, Dino Miranda embraced a career in music after studying at the FUBA School of Music in Johannesburg and then jazz at the College of Music of the University of Cape Town. He has since travelled extensively and performed around the world, collaborating with artists such as Jimmy Dludlu, Jeff Maluleke, Bheki Khoza and Stewart Sukuma. He won the Mozambican Music Award and the Ngoma Moçambique award in 2009, and in 2017 placed second in the International Songwriting Competition's World Music category with "Marrabenta". He has released two albums, Moya Wa Kaya (2008) and Xiluva (2018). His first single, "Fatal" (2007), topped charts in Mozambique and in Cape Town.
